The System Engineer will be responsible for daily operations, management and the support of current and future development and business projects. Main results and responsibilities are:
Availability of the infrastructure incl. incident- and problem management;
Monitors the availability
Reacts on reports of the system and replaces (if necessary) parts
Acts pro-actively to prevent incidents/events
Checks the log
Makes formal analyses regarding the technical impact
Change management;
Realizes changes conform planning
Realizes impact analyses and tests before the change will be executed
Checks the operational performance of the assigned system after realization of the change
Adjusts the tooling
Life cycle management
Executes life cycle management activities
Knows the support guidelines determined by the system supplier and takes them into account
Knows the time constraint of the systems suppliers support
Business Continuity Management
Places systems on the disaster recovery location and maintains these
Knows the BCM procedures
Writes the disaster recovery procedure for the assigned area of interest
Configuration Management
Adjusts the CMDB according to the changes
Capacity & Performance management
Monitors and measures indicators in the infrastructure
Knows which capacity and performance are required on the assigned systems
Monitors incidents/events and determines occurring trends regarding capacity and performance
Security Management
Takes care of demonstrable checks regarding compliance to rules and regulations
Eliminates vulnerabilities in the assigned part of the infrastructure

Knowledge:
Knowledge and over 2 years experienced System Administrator level for the OS Lunix, AIX (with PowerHA and PowerVM), Solaris.

Knowledge of and experience with Middleware apache, Tomcat and Jboss and the virtualization with RHEV and Oracle VM is preferred.
