January 2011 to June 2012 SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER (HUAWEI) SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER in a project of swap in HUAWEI Italy based in ROME.  I was responsible  to control all procedure concern the Roll-OUT in Central Area (region ABRUZZO MOLISE and SARDEGNA) from site survey, logistic, swap and integration of existing BTS BSC RNC and installation of new site. March 2008 to January 2011:  REGIONAL WSE SA-CW PRODUCT MANAGER  Turn-Key Project Expert (during  the Start-up Phase) for NOKIA SIEMENS NETWORK West South EUROPE Description of responsibility: Responsible to define the cost of project and work directly with the Business Unit Team (Account Manager; Site Solution Manager; Cost Manager; Procurement Manager) to define the cost of project applying the experience in Network Implementation made in the past. Drives the creation and implementation of account strategy for defined account. Has a solid and in-depth understanding of customer's business drivers and uses this knowledge to steer the activities for creating profitable business. Acts as a relationship manager, sales manager, business developer and operational manager for strategically important customer, with special focus on business development in area of access and backbone transmission solutions.  Short Matrix of responsibility

  1. Identify & qualify NSN Charging opportunities in co-operation with CTs, in alignment with NSN and customer’s technology strategies.
    2. Match customer needs with NSN Charging solutions and translate technical solutions to clear customer value and benefits.
    3. Sales support and sales case ownership for IN/Charging opportunities within the CT, including solution selling with proactive value argumentation
    4. Define and document technical customer solution, respond to technical parts of tenders, and prepare solution pricing.
    5. Arrange technical customer workshops, and participate in negotiations.
    6. Build strong customer relationships with customer organizations as agreed with AM of CT.
    7. Configuration of network elements for tendering, contracting and implementation

I have participated on all tender for NSN WEST- EUROPE in the last two years with several CUSTOMER (as VODAFONE Italy-Germany-Ireland; WIND Italy; WIND HELLAS; ,Telekom ALBANIA, RFI Portugal; RFI Spain; Gas Algeria; etc etc. On the above projects the Tender include all aspect of the Roll-Out (Radio Frequency; Network Planning; Transmission; Site Acquisition, Construction; Telecom Implementation). In a lot of case, working on existing Network, the main problem was related the integration of new BTS/RNC with the existing rings. Line Manager: Ing. October 2007 to March 2008 REGIONAL  PROJECT MANAGER  (GSM NOKIA SIEMENS) Regional PROJECT Manager in Riyadh Region  (Saudi Arabia) for NSN (NOKIA SIEMENS NETWORK)  for  the development of new GSM project for OPERATOR ZAIN TELECOM. Responsible of complete Roll-Out include NGN and FTTX activity during the START-UP phase (930 BTS during the first phase). Moreover responsible of cost and select the Supplier and Installation Company.  Check and made new specifications. Control the Quality of process. October 2002 to July 2007 PROJECT MANAGER North West Region (GSM/UMTS/DVBH and HSDPA systems), VODAFONE, Italy (2nd operator in ITALY)  Responsible for North-West Region of Italy, in charge of implementation and cost of the complete ROLL-OUT (average plan every year of 450 new UMTS BTS; 200 new GSM BTS; 100 collocated site and 70/80 micro repeaters). This involved following and applying VODAFONE specifications for Site Acquisition, Construction  and Telecom Implementation following the Italian government regulations concerning permits and safety, within a fixed VODAFONE yearly budget) for all sites in zone 1 (Lombardy; Piedmont e Valle d’Aosta; Liguria). Check and select of subcontractors (site acquisitions engineers; project studios; construction companies; materials suppliers) working directly report with the Project Director (Renato Santambrogio) and supporting the SALE OFFICE (Sale Director Mr Paolo Guidetti; Buyer Manager Mr Giovanni Bonanno & Mr Nicola Altieri) Weekly meetings with the Project Director to define and adjust Roll-Out (concern new BTS/BSC/RNC and integration with the existing NETWORK in terms of  forecast and make corrective actions on possible problems found including delay times. Conitue studios concern the deployment of FIXED NETWORK and apply NEW solution as Fibre Optical. Study to integrate FTTX Solutions. Continue relations with the staff group of Network Implementation and weekly meetings with my group of site acquisition and construction staff; microwave and radio frequency engineering working methods and standards definition, external resources identification, training and monitoring, civil works licence requirements and focussing on obtaining improved results. Change over from leased-line to Microwave links on 23-13-8 MHz. Support to the  Operation and Maintenance team (in particular about forecast and cost) of sites on-air with inherent problems of implementation (power; air-conditioning apparatus;  etc., etc).

January 2000 until October 2002 GSM PROJECT MANAGER NORTH-WEST ITALY for BLU, Italy (BLU was 4th operator in ITALY) BLU was a New Operator and I contribute to made all documentation/specification and create the contracts with Vendors (NORTEL and NOKIA) during the start-up phase in collaboration with the Sale Department (Mr Alberto Tagliaferro Sale Director). Starting the team was of 400 people reporting directly to the Executive Chair Director BLU Mr Enrico Casini. August 98 until December 99  ZONE MANAGER NOKIA/ERICSSON, ORANGE, Switzerland consultant for both NOKIA and ERICSSON for the third operator project for GSM system responsible for the following activities: Site Acquisition Construction and Implementation. March 98 until July 98  SITE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGER, NOKIA/ERICSSON for AMENA, Spain During the tender phase of the project for the third operator  GSM system in ANDALUSIA region. Identification and recruitment of internal radio planning, Network Implementation and permitting resources, as well as subcontracting local site acquisition and engineering services to manage the whole in the design, lease and preparation of over 200 sites in 4 months in Malaga, Seville and the freeways connecting both cities to Madrid. Set up the regional office, co-ordinated the local workload and reported very successful team results to the project director, later enabling the operator to exceed initial commercial targets.

May 1997 to March 1998 SITE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGER, NOKIA/WIND GSM 1800, Italy employed with  NOKIA ITALY MILAN as Site Acquisition and Construction Manager tendering for the network rollout turnkey project. Managed the site acquisition and preparation project for the city of Milan, participating in the establishment of basic policies for turnkey rollouts. Site-by-site progress monitoring meetings with the client and auction-related correspondence work for the supply and service of a GSM network. Site rental contracts negotiations, multi-sites landlords frame agreements, safety regulations and health hazards related issues identification. Site Acquisition & Civil Engineering working methods and standards definition, external resources  identification, training and monitoring, civil works licence requesting and obtaining processes. Took over to improve project milestones achievement, with overall responsibilities for the complete rollout and final site acceptance of the 100 sites GSM 1800MHz  located in the Milan historic city centre. Boosted team work, incorporated exceptional external resources to ensure full-time dedication, re-organised work assignment by realistic priorities and progress status. Split up civil works activities into engineering design and field works supervision, unified outsourced support criteria by introducing standard steel elements concept, simplifying cost control, itself under very strict budget limitations. Temporary sites contingency plan definition, implementation and later removal, to match the client’s license requests and avoiding severe penalty fees. Conducted a 30+ people large team, handled sub-contractor co-ordination, customer interface, and internal project management reporting.Line Manager: Ing. May 1996 to April 1997 SITE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION SPECIALIST, ERICSSON S.p.A, Italy Employed for the management of building yards in Northern Italy and the planning of BTS installation (radiant system collocation, cable routes, various connections, radio equipment collocation, air conditioning, permutation, radio link, pressurize, alarm and lightning systems) on GSM system. Responsible for the acquisition and preparation of the 50 sites needed for mobile operator TIM to establish the first private wireless cellular network in North Italy. External agent’s training, co-ordination and supervision in the search, lease and preparation of suitable radio base stations sites, working closely with radio and transmission planning teams, engineering subcontractors, construction supervisors and network implementation engineers. Initial assessment of electrical and 2Mb leased-lines supply projects, site access requirements, lease negotiations, special incentives and all legal processes to obtain site building permits. Line Manager: Ing Fernando Ruzza
