SEGA Europe Limited – Oct 2009 / December 2016; In October 2009 I was offered the position of Translator reporting directly to the Localisation Manager. The main responsibilities of the role include:

·         Gathering all the relevant info about the project before the translation process begins, this include, word count, age rating, territory limitations and deadlines.  

·         Join start up project meetings with the rest of the team involved in the project.

·         Define the translation line to follow in order to adapt the culturalisation of the assigned projects.

·         Provide weekly update on translation status of the assigned project.

·         Coordinate the check of the in game contents with the Localisation Testing Team.

·         Approve any amend raised by the Localisation testing team via defect tracking tools

·         Translation, proofreading and editing of  the assigned SEGA titles (average translation per day 10k up to 250,000k words)

·         Editing and translation of manuals and marketing material (packaging, end user manuals, online contents)

·         Building glossaries reference to be used by all departments involved in the project.

·         Supporting recording studios and actors responsible for the voice overs.

·         Creating and mantaining Translation Memories.

·         Technical support (Customer service) for the enquires coming from Italy (during the last year)

 

 SEGA Europe Limited – Jan 2009 / Oct 2009 (QA Localisation Team Lead); In January 2009 I offered the position of Localisation Team Leader. The main responsibilities of the role involved managing teams of localisation testers and to organise and schedule the check of the in game contents.

·         Managing teams of 4 up to 25 testers

·         Creating test suites and test plans

·         Creating testing strategies and schedules

·         Defects management and text fixing

·         Tracking project progress

·         Creating weekly schedules and acting as the main hub of communication between the language department and Production, Development, Functionality, Standard team and Creative Services.

·         Training new comers and tracking the team performance

·         Being involved in the recruitment process of language testers.

Disney Interactive Studios – Jan 2008 / Jan 2009 (QA functionality and language tester); The main responsibilities for the role were the evaluation and approval of the in game contents of the Disney Interactive Studios’ products, this includes:

·       Evaluate, amend and approve the in game translations

·       Testing the game and reporting defects; confirmation and regression testing.

·       Communicate and collaborate with external vendors and QA to ensure that the localisation testing met the expected standard as requested by Disney Interactive, this also included, monitoring and supervising the database, approving and fixing text bugs raised by external QAs.

·       Supporting the line manager when choosing the Italian actors to hire for voice over records

·       Proofreading and editing of marketing material

SEGA Europe Limited – Dec 2006 / Dec 2007 (QA Tester)
