EDUCATION PhD Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza” Oct 2012 – Jul 2016 My PhD research deals with the following topic: "Devoicing and Elision of High Vowels in Standard Japanese and in its Variants". New and innovative materials are included, based on research conducted at "La Sapienza" University and at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, where I worked as an International Exchange Student for five months (Jan – Jun 2014). I presented the results from an innovative perceptive experiment at the Italian Acoustic Society (AISV) conference in January 2015, which has been awarded with the Franco Ferrero Prize, and at the ICPhS in August 2015. Master Degree Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza” Oct 2009 – Mar 2012 First class degree, Main topics: Japanese Language and Linguistic, Oriental studies. Thesis title: "Devoicing and Elision of High Vowels in Japanese and in its Dialects". The main part of the thesis research was conducted at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, thanks to a scholarship won in 2011.
