Consulting and mentoring on agile application lifecycle management, reporting to company CTO, with responsibility to design the development processes and the adoption of agile methodologies.

Main responsibilities include:

– Assessment of the previous processes and design of the new software factory model, including offshore branches (England, Germany)

– Training and coaching of teams and business units for the adoption of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

– Support development teams to implement effective software engineering practices and gather relevant metrics for process improvement.

– Lead the scrum masters community of practice to help other scrum masters to evolve and improve on adopting agile values.

Software Architect/Scrum Master – Digital marketing company

Rewriting of an in-house web reputation monitoring and analysis platform, featuring the automatic content indexing and sentiment evaluation of user generated content.

I designed the solution architecture and led the agile team to develop the solution using the Scrum framework.

Technical evangelist – Microsoft DPE Italy

I have collaborated with Microsoft DPE Italy to support Team Foundation Server adoption at several customers.

My activities made the company I worked with at the time join Microsoft’s “Inner Circle” partnership program in 2009.

2005-2011

Software Architect/Agile Project Manager – Consulting Firm

Head of in-house software factory, in charge of designing solutions architectures and managing development teams, up to 20 people.

Main software projects I have led:

GPS Tracking Applications

Lead development team and solution design to create several applications based on GPS tracking of fleet items for a major Italian steel producer. GPS positions are combined with business data coming from legacy systems, to provide a new integrated environment with relevant information for customer’s logistics and maintenance divisions.

First project adopting Test Driven Development and Agile practices.

Application migration and modernization

Porting of a client-server VB6 application to Asp.Net, to support management of manufacturing execution systems (MES) for the plant of a leading Italian industrial group.

Highlights:

–       Design of a service oriented architecture.

–       Agile approach to deliver features to the customer in three-weeks increments, in order to minimize project risks and increase customer’s satisfaction.

Home automation control system

Development of the control system and front-end configuration application for a home automation system, for a major Italian automation systems manufacturer company.

Highlights:

–       Challenging and innovative technologies: Linux embedded, Adobe Flash user interface.

–       Highly extensible architecture to support services new features.

–       First project adopting Scrum and extending the agile approach to the UX team.
