In the last few years, working as Senior 3D/VR Specialist and Automotive HMIs (Human to Machine Interface) developer in the UK, I have been dealing on a regular basis with the most relevant Visualisation and Automotive UK brands and Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers. On behalf of my company I have been representing our productions abroad, having the pleasure to meet some of the most globally famous companies like Fiat Chrysler Automotive (FCA) in Turin, Cobo in Leno and MTA in Codogno. My collaborative approach and team building management style, coming from 8 years experience as CGI Technical Director and Entrepreneur, give me the right perspective of the complexity of a 3D CGi production, so to tailor and plan the best solutions to manage short and long terms projects. My 6 years experience as Technical Director and University Professor in “Techniques of Virtual Reality for Industrial Design” at University of Architecture in Naples, have given to me the attitude to have a constant learning process: I am always ready to discover on the market the last innovative technologies related to CGI 3D, VR and AR. In fact, I am running a parallel activity to my every day job: I am the founder and administrator of Twitter Tech News (twittertechnews.com) one of the well known tech portals in the London area, through which I support as media partner the most relevant events about emerging technologies (AR, VR, HMI), writing at same time technical reviews. Thanks to my 20 plus years of passion and dedication to what I think is the most challenging side of the 3D CG (Visualisation, VR and AR), I am currently developing driving simulators, behavioural interfaces, systems integration between gaming tools and tracking devices for tailored 3D real time solutions for gaming, delivering contents on Windows, IOS and Android platforms based on Open GL libraries too. Integration Software Tools, Inverse Kinematic Animation Systems, Multi-layers Texturing, Non-Distructive Environments and Ergonomics Modelling Processes, GI/Rendering Pipeline Management and Video Composting are the backbone of my production process. Skyships Automotive Ltd – UK – July 2018 (current)

At Skyships Ltd I have kicked forward my carrier in the automotive industry, placing my skills and knowledge into a competitive and highly profiled working environment populated exclusively by seniors. Thanks to my skills as coder and 3D CGI Artist, I am the bridge between the coding department, graphic design department and the projects management.

Considering that we design and produce hardware solutions as displays, CCUs, ECUs, and ICUs, I am constantly  immersed into the technical deliveries of final solutions and optimized HMIs, dealing on daily base with issues and performances benchmarks, to let our releases to be stable and reliable on a proprietary hardware.

I mainly implement my 2D/3D HMIs solution with Rightware Kanzi Studio supporting the entire process coding in C#, Java Script, Open GL and developing some mathematical implementation to guarantee the right placement of the 3D assets.

A quick overview of my daily duties with the coding department include: development (C# plug-ins) , contents optimization (Open GL ES Shaders Rendering and GPU Frame Rate Performances), deployment (QNX based platform with application configuration files implementation). 

Managing the UI/UX aspects of the production, with the graphic design department I do: UX Design (users testing), UI Design (Prototype Animations and Compliances Validation), Pre-Visualisation for complexity check, Project Set Up, HMIs perceptual and conformity evaluation, Development (2D/3D Assets creation and animation).

Shoulder to shoulder with the project managers, I evaluate the tasks complexity of the HMIs, validating and testing on the engineering vehicles the deliveries compliances with the clients requirements deployed using a Jira methodology.

My ongoing productions will equip some of the next generation electric vehicles of Aston Martin and Jaguar.

Conjure Automotive Ltd – UK – March 2016/July 2018

Working as Senior 3D Specialist and Automotive HMIs developer in the UK, I have been constantly in touch with the most relevant Automotive UK brands and Tier 1 and Tier 2 producers and on behalf of my company I have been representing our productions abroad, having  the pleasure to have some meetings with FCA in Turin, Cobo in Leno and MTA in Codogno. 

Facing the client and managing production process’ feedbacks, I have delivered solutions and integrated services for vehicles, respecting compliances and tech specs. As solution integrator, I have made the company set up for the Assets’ 3D Production, researching and optimizing software on the market to respect the budgets and timeline approved form the Company Management.

With my proactive approach I have pushed the R&D side of the company, experimenting perceptual solutions via Stereo Rendering on Lenticular Displays for 3D Stereo Visualisation without stereo glasses.

Working on different projects for Triumph, Ford, Mc Laren  and defining the company guide lines for Virtual Reality (VR) R&D to test HMI perceptual and conformity parameters, I have been through the following phases of the production process:

Research, UX Design (users testing), UI Design (Prototype Animations and Compliances Validation), Development (3D Assets creation and C++ Widgets Optimisation), Optimization (Open GL Shaders Rendering, Frame Rate Performances), Deployment (Window, IOs, Android and Binary Compiled Solutions).

I have been through the following steps for the technical side of the production workflow: 2D concept validation via UI animation, Pre-Vis for complexity check, Project Set Up, 3D Assets Integration,  UI Configuration, 3D Modelling and Animation, Textures Optimisation, Code Development, Deployment.  

My 21 years experience as 3D specialist have been supportive for the Apps Branch of the company in deploying assets to be integrated on connected car (2D/3D contents for telemetry apps for Android and IOs).

On the CAN side (controller area network) of the vehicle, coding in C# for Unity 3D I have ideated and released an Android based HMI solution to cut costs and times of the prototyping process of different solutions for the same HMI, in way to test via a tablet, without reload each time on the dashboard hardware, the proposed integrated solutions.

For the Bloodhound project sponsored by UK Government (a unique, high-technology project, focused around a 1,000mph World Land Speed Record attempt), I have been involved in the production of a driving simulator Unity3D based, with HTC Vive and Logitech Back Force devices (Steering Wheel and Pedals).

I have implemented behavioural HMI as R&D project as well.
