EDUCATION AND TRAINING 2013-2016 Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, Curriculum RadioFrequency Università degli studi di Perugia, Perugia, Italy Vote: 105/110 Activities Designing, building and testing equipment that generates radio frequency and microwave signals, including associated transmissions and detection systems Works performed: “Study and design of a microstrip Yag-Uda antenna for ISM Band Application” Computer simulation technique (CST) MW studio software was used to simulate the design antenna. The parameter of antenna such as directivity, gain, bandwidth and antenna were analyzed and also discussed. “Design, build and measurement of a 5GHz Parallel Coupled and Hairpin Filter in microstrip” done in ADS and CST. Main specifications were: Return Loss (RL) less than 15dB and band attenuation (at 5.5 GHz) less than 25 dB. “Metal magnetic multilayers, some applications” designed for Quantum Mechanics and Optoelectronics; “Energy scavenging, potential developments”, design and build an air core transformer to supply power for a Microcontroller; “Emissions from current systems, properties and calculations” study of common and differential mode for ElectroMagnetic Compability (EMC); “Design of a double balanced with diodes MIXER at 2.45GHz” Double balanced Gilbert cell mixer simulated in ADS. “Design and optimization of an ALU with two different logic families, CMOS and Pass-Transistor” designed for Microelectronics environment. Simulation of circuit in P-Spice and Sentaurus T-CAD. Part of circuit was built in VHDL. Other knowledge acquired: Testing Tools: Network Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Power meters Optoelectronic: Study of Photoelectric or Photovoltaic effect (used in photodiodes, photomultipliers…) Photoconductivity, Stimulated emission, Light-emitting diodes. Hardware: project of analogic and digital circuits, VHDl, Pspice,Sentaurus Knowledge and design of main type of filters (Parallel coupled, hairpin, end-coupled, post inductive) RF devices (directional coupler, power divider…) Antennas: Project of microstrip antennas (patch, log-periodic…) wave-guide (aperture, rectangular, horn, ridge), array of antennas Microwave: Project and analysis of oscillator, mixer, power amplifier (A,B,AB e C) Low Noise Amplifier, Models of figure of noises of MOSFET devices. Wireless and networks: LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, IP, WI-FI Visits and Seminary Visit of Anechoic chamber of Terni to measure main parameters of antennas and verify theElectroMagnetic Compatibility; Participation at Infineon Technology seminary at University of Perugia, about the Silicon-Germanium technology; Participation at A.R.P.A (Regional Agency for Environmental Protection) seminary, about electromagnetic compatibility of the antennas;

2015-2016 Traineeship/ RF design engineer Airbus Group Space and Defence, Munich, Germany “Design and measurements of a 5GHz power amplifier module with housing integrated antenna” The goal was to design and build a 5 GHz power amplifier module for a C-Band data link applications. The topics were : ▪ – Screening of commerciallyavailable highly efficient power amplifiers (MMICs), pre-amplifier and antenna switch and selecting of optimum component. ▪ – Small-signal RF schematic simulation of the power amplifier module using the commercial software AWR ▪ – Layout of the printed circuit board for the power amplifier module ▪ – 3-D electromagnetic simulation of a microstrip-to-waveguide transition and of a waveguide aperture antenna ▪ – Layout of housing for the power amplifier module ▪ – RF-Measurement of the power amplifier module 2004-2009 Electronic Technician Istituto Tecnico Industriale Statale, Lorenzo Allievi, Terni, Italy Work of thesis:”Internet layer, historical origin and IPv4 vs IPv6” Knowledges of electronic and electrical manufacturing equipment in factories and in industrial facilities; 2009-2013 Electronic and Informatic Engineering Università degli studi di Perugia, Perugia, Italy Vote: 84/110 Bachelor Degree in Information Engineering (Laurea triennale) Bachelor thesis: “Indoor positioning technique based on Ultra Wide Band signals” Abstract “Positioning systems and techniques have attracted more and more attention in recent years, in particular with satellite navigation technology as a tremendous enabler, and developments in indoor navigation. The work presented in this thesis is a studying of an alternative solution to the indoor positioning problem, since the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSSs), e.g. the Global Positioning System (GPS), generally cannot provide reliable positioning services in indoor areas, due to strong signal attenuation and dense multipath effects. The project focuses on range-based technologies, which are mainly composed of two parts: 1) ranging based on information such as Time of Arrival (ToA), Time Difference of Arrival (TDoA) and Received Signal Strength (RSS); 2) positioning using the obtained ranging results.” Main subject attended:  Electromagnetic Fields, RF Engineering, Circuit’s theory, Computer architecture, Fundamentals of telecommunication Visits  MICRON Tecnology Center in Avezzano (Aquila), Italy. Processes of the fabrication of silicon wafer; Back Side Illumination sensor.
