Altran Technologies, Paris-France – Machine Learning Research Intern March 2019 – September 2019 The objectives of this internship are: ❖ Develop a deterministic approach for local trajectory planning starting from semantic data and the global path. ❖ Develop a neural networks based approach for local trajectory planning. ❖ Explore the possibility of training the neural network mentioned above using training data collected from the results of the deterministic algorithm. ❖ Conduct a deep quantitative and qualitative analysis comparing both approaches in a simulator environment.
NAR Technologies, Beirut-Lebanon – Data Science Intern April 2018 – September 2018 Tasks: ❖ Used deep learning approaches for defect detection for an industrial environment. ❖ Improved previously built models by searching for better solutions ( different architectures – new augmentation methods…) ❖ Applied programming skills to enhance an open source software to adapt it to our needs. ❖ Built an Object detection model on a prototype that the company used in a marketing conference which helped the company secure clients. ❖ Applied color filters to clean images from labels that are embedded in them which helped us use these images as training data for our model.

PROJECTS Training Tourism and Music Chatbots Using RASA (10/2018 – 02/2019) Link RASA is an open source NLU framework commonly used to train chatbots that provides full flexibility during the training phase. The goal of this project is to: ❖ Get familiar with the technologies enabling to build a chatbot through a thorough literature survey. ❖ Implement a complete NLU engine on top of RASA adapted to the domain of tourism and music using large amount of data. ❖ conduct a thorough evaluation of the language understanding of the chatbots trained with RASA in contrast to using off the shelves NLU engines. Predicting House Prices (05/2018 – 07/2018) Link ❖ In the following project we apply various regression techniques to predict house prices we also do exploratory data analysis to study the importance of each variable and how to deal with missing values and outliers. Music Recommender System (04/2018 – 05/2018) Link ❖ Build a music recommender system using collaborative filtering and ALS algorithm.
